We currently collect and process the following information:

  • Address of garden (if different to the above)

  • Contact telephone number and email address

  • Social media details (if relevant – for example Pinterest)

  • Family composition relevant to the garden (for example children’s age, any pets)

  • Likes and dislikes

  • Interests and hobbies

  • Information obtained during topographical survey

Some data is captured automatically by our website and social media channels. Automatically collected data, which includes data collected through Google Analytics is non-personally identifiable data.

This data is collected to understand visitor behaviour patterns and demographic behaviours and to understand the number of visitors to our website.

2.3 How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • You have submitted an enquiry form via the website

  • You have telephoned or emailed us

  • During a site visit

  • We only collect data directly from you or via third parties (see the Third Parties section below)

Where processing is necessary to comply with our obligations arising out of a contract, for example, where you have bought products from us we will use the personal data you provide to fulfil our contractual obligations e.g. taking payment /shipping.

We rely on legitimate interest where processing of the data we hold on you does not, in our opinion, affect your rights or freedoms and is proportionate to our interests e.g. obtaining your feedback on our service.

5. Third parties and sharing information

We will keep your information within the organisation except where disclosure is required or permitted by law or when we use third party service providers (data processors) to supply and support our services to you.  We have contracts in place with our data processors. This means that they cannot do anything with your personal data unless we have instructed them to do so. They will not share your personal data with any organisation apart from us. They will hold it securely and retain it for the period we instruct.

  • Encrypted on one of Google Drive’s data centres (which can only be accessed by two-factor authentication)

  • Some data (such as name and email address) may be stored on our website. We do not hold any sensitive personal data on our website and our website is hosted securely, running under HTTPS.

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
